The fungus grew and grew. “No, this can’t be,” Jacob, believing his eyes, muttered to himself. The fungus, now the size of a small peach, got up and advanced toward him, swaying back and forth. “What the fuck?” Jacob said, feeling himself panic. “What the fuck? What the fuck!?”

The hole closed and opened as Jacob looked at it, trying to decipher what the fuck was happening. Watching closely, he saw the dime-sized hole open and close again.
