Bred in the Woods

Story Introduction:

Yuna’s car suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. Slowly, a spaceship descended from outer space and into Yuna’s vision. Terrified, she stepped from the car and took off into the woods. When the ship landed, several creatures spawned just outside the metallic frame. Appearing out of thin air, they materialized and then took off toward the dense wooded area.

Sweat fell from Yuna’s face while she ran. Tree branches scorned her arms and legs, but she continued, terrified of what the craft could contain. Yuna had always been afraid of aliens, but never once did she think she would see one in real life.

The sound of the beasts filled the forest. They were big and heavy and, with each footstep, shook the trees nearby. Each of the creatures had one thought on their mind. Genetically modified for breeding, every single one was ready for the planetary takeover to begin. Moving with one mind, they quickly and easily surrounded Yuna.

Yuna stopped, standing beside a thick black tree. She waited, listening. Her heart beat fast, and every fiber of her being hoped the creatures were long gone. The sound of them nearby made her think otherwise. Yuna darted from behind the tree and ran toward an open field ahead. As the brush tore away her clothing, Yuna became a ragged mess by the time she reached the hopeful destination.
