Time was frozen around me. The water coming out of the faucet was stuck in midair. I put my hand through it, and even though the water moved, it stayed in place. I left the machine on the table, turned on. Walking into my daughter’s room, I opened the door to see her sitting on the bed with her headphones on, listening to music and flipping through her phone. Pushing the dog off me, I watched as he ran down the hallway and into my daughter’s room. I walked over and looked inside. The dog was indeed humping the corner of my daughter’s bed – a soft corner of the mattress.

“Get off there,” I yelled at him. The fucker barked back at me in frustration. He was a big dog too – powerful muscles used for running and chasing prey. As far as dogs go, he was a beast.

The dark thoughts crept into my mind again. I couldn’t shake them. As much as I tried, I couldn’t help but think about what would happen if I let the dog breed my daughter. Bestiality? Could I really be into that? Isn’t that fucked up in all kinds of ways?

I shook my head in frustration as I walked over to my daughter and pulled off her earphones, “hello? Hey. It’s your dad. Hello?”

Still nothing.
