The Village Excerpt
Mia stepped into her new home for the first time. Decrepit and falling apart, the house had been abandoned many years ago from what she knew. Looking around, she saw dusty sheets over furniture and dark blackout curtains strung across the windows. The air had a certain musk, not unpleasant but simply a reminder of how old the house must be.
“Welcome,” Mia heard. She turned around and faced an older man with a grey and white beard. His clothes were tattered and torn, and his voice was grave. He wore an off-white robe that covered his body from the neck down.
Mia took a step back in shock as the door opened. She was well aware of the poverty in this village, which is why her government had sent her here to provide medical care. Being a doctor in a rural area meant dealing with those considered the lowest of the low like this man standing before her.
“Oh, thank you,” Mia replied. She took her lengthy brown hair and tied it into a bun. “This place is going to need some work. What do you think?”
“I’m Jacob,” he said under his breath. “And yes. The Thompson family used to live here. It’s been a great number of years since they disappeared.”
Mia tugged at the sheet covering the couch. “That’s strange, or is it?” Dust filled the air for the first time in many ages as the sheet was removed.
“Around here, yes, it’s very weird.” Jacob stuttered, “I’m sorry… but I’m in pain. Can you help?” He grabbed hold of his stomach gut and winced. “I don’t know what is wrong. The pain started just this morning.”
“Why don’t you go ahead and sit down right here,” Mia said, pointing at the uncovered antique couch from the Victorian ages. “This is beautiful by the way. The Thompson’s certainly knew how to decorate.”
Jacob sat on the couch and sank comfortably into the seat. He laid his head back and closed his eyes. “It hurts… so bad.”
Walking to the door, Mia picked up one of her First Aid kits and carried it to Jacob. “I’m going to run a few tests.” She started, “And don’t let me forget to give you something for the pain.”
Jacob nodded. Sweat fell in beads down the side of his face. “Thank you,” he managed to say. I’m so thankful you are here. You’re a shining light—a beacon of hope for us.”
Mia poked a needle into Jacob’s arm and drew blood. “I’ll ago ahead and get this test going.” She put a single drop into each of the six vials next to the open kit. “This won’t take long. Here, lift your shirt.”
Jacob appeared to be getting more sick by the moment. His face flushed white, and his body grew slick with sweat. Lifting his shirt was quite painful, but he managed to take it off.
“What’s that on your chest?” It looked like a giant mole or perhaps a growth of some kind. Being dark and contrasted against his white skin, Mia could immediately tell something was wrong.
“I… I don’t know. I’ve never seen that before.” Jacob spoke, “God, I don’t feel good.” He wiped sweat from his eyes, “What’s happening to me?”
Mia shook her head, “That’s the thing. Your blood results are coming back contaminated. That means your body is trying to rid itself of some kind of ailment. I’ll give you some steroidal antibiotics, and I want you to come back here tomorrow morning for a check-in. Alright?”
Jacob nodded and opened the pill bottle. “How many?”
“One every four hours.”
“Alright,” Jacob replied, still in pain. “I don’t know if I can even move. My stomach hurts so fucking bad.”
Mia bit the corner of her lip. She was very curious about what was going on with Jacob, although part of her wondered if it was simply an infection. Tomorrow, she thought. Tomorrow, I’ll get the answers I need.
“Can you come back early in the morning tomorrow?” Mia questioned.
Jacob groaned, “I’m not sure if I can even move.” Clutching his stomach with one hand, he tried to stand, heaving himself from the couch. After only a few moments, he collapsed, straining for breath. “I… I can’t… My belly, it hurts so much.”
“You can sleep on the couch tonight,” Mia said softly. “I’m going to be in the Master bedroom. I believe it is just up the stairs from the front door. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to knock on my door, or call for help.”
Mia slept soundly on the King-sized bed after a long day of traveling and dealing with the locals of the small town. Dreams came and went, and she awoke after eight hours of sleep. “Oh, it’s going to be a long day,” she said as she stumbled into the marble shower. The glass door still had a thick layer of dust, but it didn’t matter to Mia. Humming a tune to herself, she stripped and stepped inside, then closed the door.
Mia, a young doctor in her thirties, was graceful and poised. She stood at 5’6″ with black hair and deep brown eyes that exuded warmth and intelligence. Her body was slender and toned from being physically active. She dressed practically but tastefully, occasionally adding delicate accessories to accentuate her natural beauty.
After showering, Mia threw on a simple T-shirt and jeans for the day. She briefly debated doing something different with her dirty blonde curls but ultimately decided she didn’t care what others thought. Grabbing her medical bag, she headed downstairs to check on Jacob.
Walking downstairs, Mia stopped and noticed Jacob was nowhere to be seen. She looked around and felt the couch—cold. He had been gone for some time now. “Jacob? Hello?” The enormous living room was still, silent. Well, I guess he felt better and then went home.” Satisfied, Mia went to the kitchen and plugged in her coffee maker.
Without warning, a deafening crash echoed through the living room like a massive object had been dropped from a great height. Mia’s heart hammered in her chest as she cautiously emerged from the safety of the kitchen. Surveying the room with wide eyes, she saw no signs of disturbance or intruders. But an unsettling feeling crept over her like invisible eyes watched her every move. She called out hesitantly, but the only response was unnerving silence.
Mia had caught a glimpse of movement from the corner of her eye. It had appeared dark, almost black, blending seamlessly with the shadows in the room. “What the hell?” Mia questioned, curiosity taking over. She had never believed in paranormal occurrences or creatures from other realms, but now she was starting to wonder. “What… are you?” she trailed, stepping closer to the creature against the wall behind one of the chairs still draped with white dusty cloth. “Here, kitty kitty,” she beckoned, certain the thing had to be some sort of strange animal she had never seen…
But the closer she got, the more certain she became that this was no animal.
As Mia cautiously approached the chair, she couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling that whatever was lurking underneath wasn’t natural. “Jacob?” she called out, her voice shaking despite her efforts to remain composed. Her heart pounded in her chest as she reached out with trembling fingers to yank the sheet off the chair.
When the sheet fell to the floor, Mia’s eyes widened in horror. Instead of a terrified Jacob or a startled intruder, she found herself staring at a heaving mass of black, ooze-like substance. It pulsated and seethed as if alive, with occasional glimpses of something recognizable—a flicker of an eyeball, what seemed to be the glint of a tooth. The smell that hit her nostrils was overpowering, a putrid mix of rot and old blood.
Mia recoiled in revulsion and terror as the mass began to shift and reform, taking on a vaguely humanoid shape—but not quite right. It had too many limbs, each ending with a bulbous fist. She backed away, tripping over her feet as she scrambled away from the abomination.
“Jacob,” she croaked out, trying to comprehend the impossible situation unfolding before her eyes. “What happened to you?” The creature let out a low growl that sent chills down her spine – it didn’t sound human anymore, like an animal cornered and ready to strike.
Panic surged through Mia’s body, paralyzing her limbs with fear. Her mind raced as she frantically searched for a way out, her shaky legs threatening to give out at any moment. In a desperate attempt to defend herself, she blindly grasped at anything within reach, her hand closing around the cool metal of a heavy brass candlestick resting on the mantel. She lifted it high with trembling hands, ready to use it against her attacker.
The twisted creature lunged forward, engulfing Mia in a slimy, suffocating embrace. She could feel its grotesque form covering every inch of her body, pinning her to the ground in a sickening display of dominance. As she struggled against its grip, the remaining scraps of Jacob’s human consciousness were consumed by instinct. He hungrily ravaged her body, driven by an innate desire to breed and ensure the survival of his dying species. Knowing that their kind was on the brink of extinction, he eagerly awaited the arrival of others – be it his monstrous brethren or unsuspecting victims passing by the village. The thought of more creatures joining this primal ritual sent shivers throughout his gelatinous form and ignited a fierce sexual breeding frenzy.
Mia felt Jacob slide into her throat, engorging her lungs and clinging to her very blood cells. Gasping, she watched the world fade as the creature filtered oxygen into her body. Her eyes widened, and she could feel the strange substance against her eyes, tugging and pulling itself into her brain. Up her nose it went, curling around her sinuses while more went into her tiny anus. She could tell the thing was exploring her human body, especially when it delved between her legs.
“Oh… God…” Mia gasped against the thing inside her mouth.
The creature’s body emanated her voice, a deep reverberation leaving the beast’s green-opaque skin. As if sensing their prey, another creature walked into the house. It followed the sound until it came across another of his kind. Jumping across the room, it absorbed into Jacob, creating another mind within. Both united felt incredible strength and increased levels of procreation. Their sperm enhanced and grew larger, balls growing in response.
Mia could see the goo’s eyeballs floating around and strange limbs associated with different bodies, she assumed. She could breathe alright, and somehow she could look around, which felt even weirder. Her body tingled as the thing around her hardened within her vagina, slowly growing and stretching her. She could feel her body respond, wetness releasing against the textured cock inside her pussy.
Jacob replicated a cock that resembled a human’s, just as he had seen in her thoughts. He plunged into her body, relishing the intense sensations on his member. He then manifested another phallus and pushed it into her backside, indulging in the warmth against his cool skin. A wicked grin spread across his face as he thrust deeper inside her vagina, continuously increasing the size and length of his creation. The feeling of her soft cunt lips tugging on his cock brought immense pleasures that made him only want more.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck!” Mia screamed, cursing in ecstasy. She had been with a few guys in college, but this was something entirely different. “Oh, My, FUCK!” Her eyes almost bulged from her body as the creature’s dick found her cervix. As it tapped her again and again, Mia’s body shook violently. Inside Jacob’s form, Mia wondered what would become of the situation. Is… life over? What is happening? The orgasm took over as the beast examined her clitoris, poking, prodding, and sucking all at once. “Fuck me! God, fuck me!”
